General Library Rules

• Books must be used with care. Damaged or lost books must be replaced or paid for as decided by the Library Committee.
• Cost of unreplaced lost/damaged books will be based on current edition pricing. Final decision rests with the Library Committee Chairman.
• The term "book" includes pamphlets, magazines, journals, etc.
• Marking, highlighting, or damaging library materials is strictly prohibited.
• Absolute SILENCE must be maintained. Smoking and eatables are strictly prohibited.
• Furniture is for reading purposes only; sleeping or misuse is not allowed.
• If multiple students request the same book, priority is given to the first applicant.
• Maximum of two books per student. Books must be properly issued before being taken out.
• All users must follow library rules and respectful conduct as prescribed by the Institute.

Security & Access Rules

• Bags, briefcases, and laptop bags are not allowed inside the library. Use the property counter at the entrance.
• Precautionary measures are in place to avoid false allegations in case of missing books.
• All issued items will be recorded by the library staff.
• Complaints should be addressed in writing to the Library Committee Chairman.
• Unauthorized removal of books must be reported immediately to the Chairman by the Librarian.

Membership Categories & ID Cards

• Library membership cards are issued to students during internship.
• Non-Academic JRs may use the library for reading purposes.
• Temporary cards may be issued to alumni for reading only.

Circulation Counter - Membership Categories:

• U.G. Students
• P.G. Students
• JR / SR
• Faculty Members
• Administrative Heads
• Non-Teaching Staff

Member ID Card:

• Each user gets a Laminated Bar-coded Member ID Card valid for the course/service period.
• ID cards are non-transferable.
• Loss of ID card incurs a penalty of ₹100/-.

Loss of ID Cards

• Report ID card loss immediately to the Librarian to block the number.
• Duplicate cards cost ₹100. Cardholders are responsible for misuse before reporting loss.

Issue and Return of Books

• Books (except reference books) can be issued for 15 days. One book per issue.
• Reference books, periodicals, theses, and back volumes are for in-library use only.
• One 15-day renewal allowed if no reservations. Physical presentation of the book is required.
• Inspect books before issue. Report any damage to avoid liability.
• Books in high demand may be recalled anytime.
• Absence is not an excuse for delay in returning books.
• Late returns attract a fine of ₹5 per day per book.

Loss of Books

• Report lost books immediately. Replace with a new copy or pay overdue + penalty.
• If not replaced, the fine is three times the book's cost plus overdue charges.
